RULESET: Just Dance 2019

​

Article 1 – Game 

The Just Dance Tournament will be played on JUST DANCE 2019 - Xbox One + Kinect. 

​

Article 2 – Location

The Tournament will occurs every Wednesday from 10th of April to end of June (Zeitgeist final, to be determined) between 12h and 13h (Lunch time). For people that can't be present for the Wednesday, we can use the Thursday of the same week, to make remaining matches of the week but keep in mind that the official day is the Wednesday!

The tournament will stand for 10 weeks long : 7 weeks of Swiss Tournament (6 rounds + 1 bonus) + 3 weeks of Single Bracket Elimination. (We are keeping 1 week of buffer before the finals)

​

Location will be at (depending of availability) : GSP Conf - 979 Shangri-La, GSP Conf - 10 - Galilei, GSP Conf - 1099 Xanadu and MTL Conf - 1600 Ville-Marie

Article 3 – Format

1. The pool phase: one match played against opponents in a Swiss mode tournament and seeded with Swiss ruleset.

2. In case of odd number of participants. Players could have a BYE during the Swiss stage.

3. One song per Round for all players will be played.

4. A maximum of 6 Rounds will be made during the pool phase. 

5. Once the pool phase is finished the 8 best players in all previous Rounds will be selected to continue the tournament in Single Bracket Elimination.

6. The best scores will be used to seed the players into the tournament brackets (highest seed vs. lowest seed.)

7. All matches will be scheduled at lunch time. We’ll send you meeting requests.

8. For Pool phase, Swiss mode have been selected to seed the top players. All matches will be a Single Game tournament (Best Of 1!).

9. For Single Bracket Elimination phase, all matches will be Best of 3 except for the Final which will be a Best of 5!

Article 4 – Rules

1. The winner is defined by the highest score of the match.

2. In case of both score have only 50 points and less of differences, both players will be considered as Tie.

3. Here is the scoring points :

   1. WIN : 2 points​

   2. TIE : 1 point each

   3. BYE : 1 point

   4. LOSS or NO SHOW : 0 point

4. All players will play on the same tracklist (ref: Article 6)

5. At the end of all the Swiss Rounds if players have equal scores, they will be decided between with a bonus song. Best score will win. (Best of 1)

6. If a participant has to leave the tournament during the Swiss phase he can't be selected for next Single Bracket Stage and loose his current ranking.

7. If a participant has to leave the tournament DURING the 1st round of Single Bracket Phase, 2 remaining top participants will play a song decided by organizers in order to decide the player who will move to the Single Bracket and replace the empty spot. 

8. If a participant has to leave the tournaments AFTER the 1st round of Single Bracket Phase, 2 looser players from the previous bracket stage will play a song decided by organizer to decide the player who will move to next Bracket stage and replace the empty spot.

9. The DLC maps are not included in the tracklist 

10. Failure to show up for a scheduled match (after 15 min) will result in a warning and a re-schedule on Thursday. An email should be sent 24 hours before to UGL-S6-JustDance-Admins.

11. if you know you will be taking weeks off and will miss matches, you need to send a mail at least 1 week before, so we can reschedule your match in advance. Please contact UGL-S6-JustDance-Admins.

12. Failure to show up for a re-schedule match will result in an automatic loss.

13. Please make sure that you can be present for your match 10 minutes before the start of your match.

14. Unfairness and irrelevant remarks to the organizers or fellow contestants will result of a first warning followed by a possible exclusion in case of repetitive harrassment. Remember : This tournament is organized by volunters in their free time with no rewards expect giving fun time to all participants. The happyness of everybody is mandatory!

Article 5 – Additional rules

1. This Just Dance tournament is all about FUN! 

2. Appropriate attire for dancing is recommended.

3. Stay hydrated! Bring a bottle of water.

4. Be careful to some specific textile that can reflect too much Kinect infrared lights, so please bring some adapted suits. BRING SPARE CLOTHES in case the camera can't see your pants.
