RULESET: Just Dance 2023

Article 1 – Game
The Just Dance Tournament will be played on JUST DANCE 2023 on Nintendo Switch. 

​

Article 2 – Location

The Tournament will occur every Tuesday from 18th of April to end of June (location to be determined) between 12h and 13h (Lunch time). For people who can't be present for the Tuesday, we can use the Thursday of the same week, to make remaining matches of the week but keep in mind that the official day is the Tuesday!

The tournament will stand for 8 weeks: 6 weeks of Swiss Tournament (6 rounds + 1 extra round if needed) + 2 weeks of Single Bracket Elimination. (We are keeping 1 week of buffer before the finals)
Finals will be played during a 3rd week at an undisclosed location now. This will be revealed later during tournament.

Location will be at (depending of availability): GSP Conf - 1099 Xanadu or GSP Conf - 979 Shangri-La. Can vary over the time depending on availability, changes will be communicated by email 1 week before the match.

Article 4 – Format

1.    The pool phase: one match played against opponents in a Swiss mode tournament and seeded with Swiss ruleset (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss-system_tournament) 
2.    In case of odd number of participants. Players could have a BYE during the Swiss stage.
3.    One song per Round for all players will be played.
4.    A maximum of 6 Rounds will be made during the pool phase + 1 extra round if needed.
5.    Once the pool phase is finished the top 8 players in all previous Rounds will be selected to continue the tournament in Single Bracket Elimination.
6.    The best scores will be used to seed the players into the tournament brackets (highest seed vs. lowest seed.)
7.    All matches will be scheduled at lunch time. We’ll send you meeting requests.
8.    For Pool phase, Swiss mode have been selected to seed the top players. All matches will be a duel between 2 players (1V1)
9.    For Single Bracket Elimination phase, all matches will be Best of 3 except for the Final which will be a Best of 5

Article 5 – Rules

1.    The winner is defined by the highest score of the match.
2.    In case the scores have only 50 points and less of differences, both players will be considered as Tie.
3.    Here are the scoring points:
1.    WIN : 2 points
2.    TIE : 1 point each
3.    BYE : 1 point
4.    LOSS or NO SHOW : 0 point
4.    All players will play on the same tracklist (ref: Article 7). First 5 rounds of Swiss phase will be divided in 2 groups with track A and track B. Placement will be made by organizers and communicated 1 week in advance.
5.    At the end of all the Swiss Rounds if players have equal scores, they will be decided between with a bonus song. Best score will win. (Best of 1)
6.    If a participant must leave the tournament during the Swiss phase, he can't be selected for next Single Bracket Stage and loose his current ranking.
7.    If a participant must leave the tournament DURING the 1st round of Single Bracket Phase, 2 remaining top participants from previous bracket will play a song decided by organizers to decide the player who will move to the Single Bracket and replace the empty spot. 
8.    If a participant must leave the tournaments AFTER the 1st round of Single Bracket Phase, 2 looser players from the previous bracket stage will play a song decided by organizer to decide the player who will move to next Bracket stage and replace the empty spot.
9.    If a participant could not be present during small final and finals. The opponent will report as a WIN.
10.    The DLC maps are not included in the tracklist 
11.    Failure to show up for a scheduled match (after 15 min) will result in a warning and a re-schedule on Thursday. In case of unavailability, you must send an email 24 hours before to UGL-S7-JD-Admins@ubisoft.com 
12.    if you know you will be taking weeks off and will miss matches, you need to send a mail at beginning of the tournament or at least 1 week before your matches, so organizers can try to reschedule your matches. Please contact UGL-S7-JD-Admins@ubisoft.com
13.    Failure to show up for a re-schedule match will result in an automatic loss.
14.    After 3 consecutive no show, you will be removed from the tournament without notice.
15.    Please make sure that you can be present for your match 10 minutes before the start of your match.
16.    Unfairness and irrelevant remarks to the organizers or fellow contestants will result of a first warning followed by a possible exclusion in case of repetitive harassment. Remember: This tournament is organized by volunteers in their free time with no rewards except giving fun time to all participants. The happiness of everybody is mandatory!

Article 6 – Additional rules

1.    This Just Dance tournament is all about FUN! 
2.    Appropriate attire for dancing is recommended.
3.    Don’t forget to warm-up before your matches.
4.    Stay hydrated! Bring a bottle of water.
